Bonnie & Clyde Car Rolls in October 26th

October 26, 2008 - The Bonnie & Clyde Ford, the actual car they drove into the ambush and to their death in the early 30s, is now on display as part of the San Diego Air & Space Museum's Gangsters, Glamour, and Glory: Forging America's Future in the 1930s exhibit.
Gangsters, Glamour, and Glory is a period exhibit featuring historical items from all over the United States, highlighting the exciting 1930s. The exhibit showcases a unique period in our country's history; gangsters on and off the silver screen, the glamour of design, fashion, Hollywood and talking pictures, the glory of the record setters and Americas' strength in the mist of the Great Depression.

The Da Vinci Experience

January 31, 2009 - Replicas and models of the mechanical devices designed and described by Leonardo da Vinci, along with reproductions of 11 of his most famous paintings, will be featured in a new exhibition at the San Diego Air & Space Museum opening January 31, 2009.

Da Vinci's Designs Scale Model Competition & Exhibition

October 15, 2008 - Leonardo da Vinci did much more than paint the Mona Lisa. He drew designs for inventions well ahead of his time, especially on the subject of flight. While Leonardo built a few models of his designs, most probably stayed on paper. For the da Vinci's Designs Scale Model Competition & Exhibition we want you to take his designs off the paper and build them.

6th Annual Amateur Photography Exhibition: Through da Vinci's Eyes

October 26 - November 2, 2008 - Leonardo da Vinci's ideas can be seen in the world all around you - from helicopters to hang gliders. For 6th Annual Amateur Photography Exhibition: Through da Vinci?s Eyes, presented by the Museum of Photographic Arts and the museum, we want you to photograph the world of flight as if through da Vinci's eyes. Then in a few sentences explain how your photo relates to one of da Vinci's flight related designs. We look forward to seeing your da Vinci kodaks! Entries are due between October 26th and November 2nd.

Fall 2008 Session of Ground School
|
Fall 2008 - This 13-week course will prepare attendees to take the written examination for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) private pilot certificate. We have qualified pilots, professional educators, an FAA-Certified Advanced Ground Instructor, and an FAA-designated Aviation Safety Counselor on staff to help with our ground school.

Programs last 45 minutes and take place at 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm.
