Express Jet shakes up traditional airline transportation Model - the "non-hub' approach to airline travel(January 22, 2008) - James Ream, Chairman of new San Diego airline carrier, Express Jet, is shaking up the traditional 'non-hub' transportation system, and is coming to San Diego on February 21st, 2008 to speak at the San Diego Air & Space Museum. Ream's topic, "Ensuring success in the "non-hub" environment: increased direct routes, less time to your destination, and more efficient aircraft," stems from his experience as President of Express Jet since November 1999 and President and Chief Executive Officer since April 2002. Ream has directed ExpressJet in its transformation from a wholly owned regional arm of a major carrier to a diversified aviation company competing in multiple markets. Under his leadership, ExpressJet restructured its commercial and financial framework as it spun off from Continental and established its own identity. Before joining ExpressJet, Ream's tenure as a Senior VP with Continental Airlines included resizing, restructuring and stabilizing Continental Micronesia during a serious slowdown in the Asian economy. His other industry positions have included Managing Director of Corporate Purchasing for American Airlines, and with the Aeromedical Division of Evergreen International Aviation, where he began his career. Ream received his MBA from Northwestern University. Breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the Museum's Pavilion of Flight followed by the commencement of the program at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $50 per person or $450 per table.
