The San Diego Air & Space Museum Participates in MayDay(May 1, 2008) - Archives, libraries, museums, and historic preservation organizations across America are setting aside May 1, 2008, to participate in May Day, a national effort to protect valuable historic collections from disasters. The San Diego Air & Space Museum is recognized as one of the country's premier aerospace museums. Therefore, the Museum's staff has dedicated themselves to protecting this unique cultural institution and its collections for future generations. In recognition of the MayDay event, San Diego Air & Space Museum staff members are revising their Emergency Preparedness and Response plan. By updating this plan, not only will the staff be better able to preserve the Museum and its historic contents, but the Museum patrons will also be assured of a safe visit. Later in the year, the Museum will conduct a building evacuation drill and invite local Fire Fighters to review the emergency plan and become more familiar with the Museum building and its collection. |
